Trans Dinarica People2People event at "Soča Outdoor Festival"

Part of well-established and popular outdoor festival event

As part of the TRANSDINARICA2 project, the project leader Katarina Polajnar Horvat participated in the Soča Outdoor Festival, where we carried out the dissemination activity TransDinarica – People for People. The Soča Outdoor Festival is a popular sports and recreational event that has been taking place for over twelve years in Tolmin, Slovenia, at the confluence of the Soča and Tolminka rivers. It combines trail running, Nordic walking, outdoor activities, and a rich accompanying program.

Tolmin is also symbolically significant as the starting point of the TransDinarica trail, which begins in the Soča Valley, at the meeting point of the Alps and the Dinaric Mountains, and winds its way through eight countries—all the way to Albania and North Macedonia.

The aim of our project activity at the festival was to connect local communities, tourism providers, and visitors, with a strong focus on the exchange of experiences and the promotion of sustainable tourism along the TransDinarica route. The festival provided an excellent opportunity to present the project's activities and to gather valuable feedback from stakeholders on the ground.

A booth was set up at the main festival venue, featuring information about the TransDinarica cycling route and its key highlights. In addition, a film about the development and implementation of the cycling trail—shot in 2024—was screened as part of the festival program.

By participating in events like this, we strengthen the visibility of TransDinarica and contribute to its continued development and implementation across the Dinaric region.
