Workshop on current status of raptor protection in Romania in the context of climate change
🦅 Protecting biodiversity is a priority, and on March 13th 2026 at USV Iași, we took another important step in this direction.
The workshop “The current status of raptor protection in Romania in the context of climate change” was successfully completed. It was a day full of valuable discussions, bringing together specialists in veterinary medicine, ecology, and biology dedicated to the future of birds of prey. 🦉
During the workshop, participants discussed current challenges related to key control strategies addressing threats to birds of prey, as well as gaps identified in their implementation. The event brought together representatives of local public institutions, including the Garda Națională de Mediu Iași, DSVSA Iași, Direcția Județeană pentru Mediu Iași, and IPJ Iași – Biroul pentru protecția animalelor, as well as members of the academic and research community, including Facultatea de Medicină Veterinară Iași, FIRAA Iași, CEMEX, and INCDDD. Non-governmental organizations were also represented, including ACCIPITER.
The workshop contributed to strengthening the resilience and adaptive capacity of endangered birds of prey in the Danube Region in response to climate change impacts.
💡 This event was another big step to strengthen the resilience of endangered birds of prey in the Danube Region.
