Project workshop: Handling and Sampling of Birds of Prey (Day 2)
🦅 On the second day of the AVIATOR project workshop "Handling and Sampling of Birds of Prey", participants visited the protected Nature Park “Rusanda” in Central Banat, an internationally important bird area hosting more than 220 bird species.
The field visit focused on the conservation of owls and falcons, including the critically endangered Red-footed Falcon. Participants had the opportunity to observe bird capturing, ringing, health examination, blood sampling, and safe release back into nature.
The visit emphasized the essential role birds of prey play in maintaining ecosystem balance and the importance of continued conservation efforts, monitoring, and public awareness through the AVIATOR project.
