Kranj Takes Action Towards a More Climate-Resilient Future with the Be Ready Project
On 28 May 2026, the Action Plan Endorsement Meeting of the Be Ready project took place at the premises of the City Municipality of Kranj, Slovenia. The event brought together representatives of local and regional authorities, energy and spatial planning experts, SMEs, and public service organizations to discuss concrete measures for strengthening urban climate resilience.
During the meeting, the Action Plan to Tackle Urban Heat Islands (UHI) in Kranj was officially presented. The document outlines targeted actions and innovative solutions aimed at reducing the effects of extreme heat, improving urban environments, and supporting the city’s adaptation to climate change.
The event also provided an opportunity to build valuable synergies with the sister Interreg Central Europe projects CICADA4CE and Urbio Bauhaus, promoting cooperation in the fields of climate adaptation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable urban development. These joint efforts contribute to the broader goals of the Mission 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities initiative.
Through collaboration among institutions, experts, and local stakeholders, Kranj continues to move towards a greener, cooler, and more resilient future, contributing to climate adaptation efforts across the Danube Region.
