Zenica Showcases Be Ready Results at Multiplier Event
On 10 June 2026, the City of Zenica hosted a Be Ready Multiplier Event, bringing together representatives of local authorities, public institutions, academia, civil society organisations, municipal services, and other stakeholders to explore innovative approaches to climate resilience and urban heat island (UHI) mitigation.
The event provided an opportunity to present the key achievements of the Be Ready project and demonstrate the tools and solutions developed to help cities better prepare for the impacts of climate change. Participants learned about the project's Urban Heat Island (UHI) assessment methodology, the concept of Green, Blue and White Urban Acupuncture interventions, GIS-based digital tools, the online training platform, and educational resources designed to support local authorities and practitioners.
The City of Zenica also presented its Local Action Plan for tackling urban heat islands, alongside the pilot actions implemented through the project and policy recommendations aimed at strengthening local climate adaptation and building more resilient urban environments.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion, allowing participants to exchange experiences, share local perspectives, and explore ways to integrate the project's results into future urban planning and climate adaptation policies. The multiplier event reinforced the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing in creating healthier, more climate-resilient cities across the Danube Region.
