Ratiboř Takes a Major Step Toward Climate Resilience with New Action Plan

On March 17, 2026, the Ratiboř Municipal Council officially approved the Action Plan for Addressing the Impacts of Urban Heat Islands, prepared as part of the international Be Ready project.

The draft action plan was developed in collaboration between the Ratiboř project team and expert partners and reflected the methodological guidelines of the Interreg Danube Region Programme. During its preparation, the document was consulted with relevant stakeholders and experts, whose input contributed to its refinement and final form.

Shortly after the action plan was approved, a brief meeting was held with representatives of key stakeholders who had been involved in its preparation. The discussion focused primarily on specifying the proposed measures, their timelines, and financing options. The meeting also helped strengthen cooperation between the municipality, the professional community, and other partners involved in the project.

The action plan defines several main objectives aimed at increasing the municipality’s resilience to the impacts of climate change, particularly regarding the overheating of built-up areas. The proposed measures include, for example, support for green infrastructure, improvements in rainwater management, and modifications to public spaces with the goal of reducing the heat island effect. The approval of this document represents an important milestone in the municipality of Ratiboř’s participation in the Be Ready project and confirms its active approach to climate change adaptation and sustainable development.
