DANOVA NEXT Presented at AccessibleEU Workshop on Accessible Mobility in Bucharest

On 7 September 2026, DANOVA NEXT was presented at the AccessibleEU workshop “Accessible Communities: Mobility, Safety and Accessible Cultural Heritage”, held at the University of Bucharest, Romania.

The workshop was organised by AccessibleEU Romania, represented by Cristina Căluianu, AccessibleEU National Expert for Romania, and took place as part of the second edition of the B-Inclusive Festival, a festival dedicated to accessibility and inclusion taking place in Bucharest from 7 to 13 September 2026.

The event brought together European and Romanian experts, representatives of public authorities, academia, transport stakeholders, the private sector and organisations representing persons with disabilities. Its aim was to exchange experience and good practices and to explore how policies, standards, European projects and cooperation between different stakeholders can contribute to more accessible and inclusive communities.

DANOVA NEXT in the Accessible Mobility Session

DANOVA NEXT was featured in the workshop’s second thematic session, “Accessible Mobility: From Policies, Standards and Investments to the Real Travel Experience”. The project was represented by Hrvoje Spremić, Project Manager of DANOVA NEXT on behalf of the partnership leader, Dubrovnik Airport. His contribution focused specifically on the project’s experience in improving transport accessibility for persons with sensory disabilities.

The presentation highlighted the practical results and experience gained through DANOVA NEXT, with particular attention to:

  • solutions developed and tested within the project;

  • lessons learned from implementing accessible transport solutions;

  • the practical experience of improving accessibility for passengers with sensory disabilities; and

  • results and approaches that could be transferred and applied in other transport systems.

Through its participation, DANOVA NEXT contributed to the exchange of knowledge and good practices on accessible transport, sharing project results with stakeholders working towards more inclusive mobility at both national and European level.
