Danube Indeet Model successfully tested in the water utility sector

The 22nd of March marks World Water Day. The public water utility sector in Hungary commemorated the occasion by organizing a conference in Kalocsa, Hungary. Paks Transportation Ltd. was invited to present their application for the Jedlik Ányos programme. The project aims to developed photovoltaic capacities and a Battery Electricity Storage System (BESS) at the premises of Paks Transportation Ltd.

The Danube Indeet Model was tested against the feasibility study of the project successfully, showing the DIM's accuracy. Due to the promising results, the Danube Indeet Model was proposed to be tried in a different environment. It was used to optimize potential PV and BESS investments for the regional water supply utility company, Kiskunvíz. This included three different sites: two wastewater treatment plants as well as one drinking water plant. With their hourly electricity consumption data available, with the help of the Danube Indeet Model the CEO of Paks Transportation Ltd., Mr. Sándor Csapó was able to demonstrate the feasibility of such an investment.

It must be highlighted however that different risks related to an investment, such as subsidy availability, energy prices, authorisation, weather can only be managed to a limited degree in the DIM (by testing different scenarios). The testing of the Danube Indeet Model underlines that it can be applied to any use case that involves electricity consumption - for a potential investment composition of PV, BESS, hydrogen storage and electric vehicel charging points the Danube Indeet Model yields accurate sizing results.
