Green-Tex at DECIDE event and Study Visit in Čakovec: Sharing Circular Economy Practices

Digital Services for Circular Economy: A Toolbox for Regional Developers & SMEs

Representatives of the Green-Tex project – LP1 SERDA and Project Partner Municipality of Majur – took part in a study visit and the event of the DECIDE project, held in Čakovec, Croatia, on 12–13 May 2026.

During the study visit on 12. May, the Green-Tex team visited Regeneracija Zabok and the social cooperative Humana Nova, gaining first-hand insight into good practices in textile recycling, material reuse, and circular business models. These examples are highly relevant for Green-Tex activities, especially when it comes to developing more sustainable textile waste management systems and strengthening cooperation in the region.

The Joint Conference of the Interreg Danube Region Project DECIDE – “Digital Services for Circular Economy: A Toolbox for Regional Developers & SMEs” – together with the EU Strategy for the Danube Region, Priority Area 8, Working Group Circular Economy and Bioeconomy, held on 13. May, focused on how circular ideas can be turned into practical, economically viable, environmentally sound, and socially beneficial solutions. It brought together different perspectives on how to make the circular economy and bioeconomy work in real-life conditions.

At the event o, key results, innovative solutions, and approaches to sustainable resource management were presented. The LP1 representative of Green-Tex also joined a panel discussion as a panelist, sharing experiences from the project and reflecting on challenges and opportunities for developing circular solutions in the textile sector across the Danube region.

Overall, the visit and conference were a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange, networking, and strengthening cooperation between projects and organizations working in the field of circular economy and sustainable development.
