MonStur in the Danube presented at the 4th Congress of Biologists of Serbia

From 16 to 20 September 2026, MonStur in the Danube was presented at the 4th Congress of Biologists of Serbia, held in Divčibare, Serbia.

The project was introduced by Dr Gorčin Cvijanović, from project partner University of Belgrade – Institute for Multidisciplinary Research (IMSI), to an audience of scientists, researchers and young biologists from Serbia and across the region.

The presentation provided an opportunity to introduce the objectives and activities of MonStur and prompted discussions on the protection of migratory fish species, the conservation of sturgeon populations and river ecosystems, as well as the role of improved knowledge and cooperation in supporting the management of the Danube River Basin.

Participation in the congress also offered an opportunity to exchange knowledge and perspectives with the wider scientific community and raise awareness of the project's work towards a coordinated approach to sturgeon monitoring across the Danube.
