SteelCityZen publishes its Good Practices compendium
The SteelCityZen partnership has released its comprehensive Good Practices document, offering an extensive collection of proven initiatives that support labour market diversification and skills development across (mono)industrial cities in the Danube Region. The publication, revised on 4 November 2025, highlights practical examples from multiple European countries and demonstrates how local cooperation, innovative training models, and community-driven employment initiatives can strengthen resilience in post-industrial areas.
Developed as part of the Interreg Danube Region Programme and co-funded by the European Union, the compendium showcases projects ranging from online platforms and advisory services to capacity-building actions and socially inclusive employment schemes. These cases provide inspiration for SteelCityZen partners as they prepare their local pilot activities, helping municipalities and labour market actors design solutions aligned with green and digital transitions.
The publication is accompanied by an Excel-based selection tool, enabling users to filter best practices according to project characteristics and target groups. The newly released resource marks an important step in supporting partner cities to address economic restructuring challenges with evidence-based, transferable approaches.
