Workshop on Protecting the Birds of Prey in Slovenia

🦅 Protection of Birds of Prey in Focus

On March 18, 2026, there was a workshop within Interreg DRP AVIATOR project that was held at National Institute of Biology in Ljubljana, which brought together experts in biology, veterinary science, and ecology.

Participants discussed key challenges affecting birds of prey, including:

🔬monitoring their health in the wild

🛰️tracking movement through telemetry

⚠️addressing risks such as poisoning and infectious diseases.

🤝 The workshop also highlighted the importance of coordinated action and knowledge sharing across sectors and countries.

Together, we are working towards a better understanding and protection of raptors, owls, and falcons in Slovenia.
