Harnessing Agrobiodiversity: Building Skills for a Sustainable Culinary Future
Last week, the Primorsko-Notranjska region hosted a successful professional workshop as part of the SReST (Socially Responsible Slow Food Tourism) project, bringing together local food producers and tourism providers.
The event was organized by the Municipality of Postojna and Nativa Institute, in collaboration with the international organization Slow Food Foundation. Set at the idyllic Eco Farm Hudičevec, participants explored modern approaches to sustainable gastronomy and responsible culinary tourism.
Through an engaging program, attendees were discussing the core principles of the Slow Food movement—good, clean and fair food for all. Special focus was placed on:
- preserving local traditions
- sustainable food production
- strengthening connections between producers, hospitality providers and local communities
Interactive sessions encouraged the exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas, fostering new opportunities for collaboration and regional development.
A heartfelt thank you to all participants for their active involvement, positive energy and inspiring discussions!
Together, we are building a sustainable future rooted in local food heritage, agrobiodiversity, gastronomy and meaningful connections.
