SReST Final Event in Zlatibor
Our partners from Western Serbia hosted the SReST project final event on June 2-3, 2026, bringing together project partners from all seven participating countries and local stakeholders with the aim of presenting achievements, exchanging experiences and discussing the future of socially responsible “slow food” tourism in the Danube Region.
Over two content-rich days in Zlatibor, project partners presented results of pilot actions, shared best practices and explored ways to strengthen sustainable tourism, local food systems, agrobiodiversity and community development.
The programme also featured Gastro Zbor, a culinary event dedicated to local gastronomy and Slow Food values, showcasing traditional products, regional specialties and the people preserving the area’s rich food heritage.
We also explored some of Western Serbia’s most remarkable natural and cultural attractions, including Stopića Cave and the Sirogojno Open-Air Museum. The visit further highlighted the importance of linking nature conservation, local identity and sustainable tourism development.
Thank you to all partners, stakeholders, local producers and community representatives who contributed to the success of SReST and helped build a strong foundation for future cooperation across the Danube Region.
