Local Providers’ Fair “Zeleni Kras” Successfully Brings Together Regional Stakeholders

On 25 March 2026, the Local Providers’ Fair “Zeleni Kras” took place in Ilirska Bistrica, Slovenia, gathering a vibrant community of local producers, artisans and tourism providers. The event was organised by the Municipality of Postojna (SReST LP) in collaboration with the Municipalities of Ilirska Bistrica, Bloke, Pivka, and Loška dolina.

The fair served as an important platform for many SReST providers to promote local food heritage, tourism services and sustainable regional development within the Zeleni Kras (Green Karst) area. Visitors had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of locally produced goods, discover unique handcrafted products and engage with innovative ideas aimed at enhancing agrobiodiversity of the region and authentic visitor experiences.

By bringing together diverse stakeholders, the event highlighted the strength of regional cooperation and the shared commitment to sustainable development and the promotion of local identity. The Local Providers’ Fair “Zeleni Kras” once again demonstrated the value of connecting local communities, supporting small-scale producers and fostering tourism rooted in authenticity and tradition.
