Preparing for Mapping the Food Heritage of Agrobiodiversity & Key Actors

The SReST project continues to delve into the realms of socially responsible “slow food” tourism and gastronomic excellence. In the second workshop of the "Mapping the Food Heritage of Agrobiodiversity & Key Actors", experts from Slow Food International provided valuable insights on building successful stories in tourism and gastronomy through practical examples.

Recap of Previous Tasks

The workshop began with a review of the tasks assigned in the first workshop. Partner regions received feedback on their descriptions of agro-biodiversity features, including details of local breeds and other geographical characteristics. Partner regions identified two typical local products with the potential to be included in the Ark of Taste and two tourist destinations that align with Slow Food destination criteria.

Overview of the Success Stories in Gastronomic Tourism

Slow Food International experts shared strategies for creating successful gastronomic tourism stories. They introduced several examples of good practices from various European regions, highlighting the foundations of their success.

The workshop ended on an inspiring note with a Syrian migrant, who is now a member of the Slow Food movement, sharing the project experience of successfully integrating migrants into the slow food tourism offer in Northern Italy.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to explore and map the food heritage of agrobiodiversity.
