SReST Joins the Farmer & Artist Event in Trieste

Representatives from Municipal Community Dubašnica d.o.o., SReST project partner, joined the Farmer & Artist event in Trieste, which highlighted sustainable food practices and local heritage. Farmers and chefs from SReST stakeholder community also attended, and participated in the panel on sustainable food policies for Trieste.

The event featured 46 producers—including 16 Slow Food presidia from the regions of Slovenian and Italian Kars, Friuli, Kvarner, Istria and the Alps products. They showcased their products, practices and stories.

This vibrant gathering not only connected local producers and communities but also demonstrated the potential of reimagining historic spaces like Trieste’s old farmers' market. The place was once the main food hub in Trieste, and has now come to life again for the second consecutive year with the Farmer & Artist event. It now awaits a new life, hopefully in the lines of what Farmer & Artist showed possible.

The event was organized by GAL Carso – LAS Kras, Comune di Trieste, Slow Food Italia, Slow Food Trieste, the association Campagna Amica, and Io Sono Fvg.
