OpenCall for SmartCity agile pilot project

The consortium of the international project PilotInnCities is launching an open call, offering participants the opportunity to receive up to €20,000 (including VAT) in the form of a contract for the implementation of a pilot project. The competition runs simultaneously in six countries of the so-called Danube region: Czechia, Hungary, Germany, Romania, Slovakia, and Serbia. In this first wave, a total of 22 to 44 pilots will be implemented, with more than €400,000 distributed among them.

In Czechia, the challenge is organized by CzechInvest and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, which is also leading this international initiative. The project introduces an award-winning Finnish method of agile piloting to the region. The open call is primarily targeted at startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and at its conclusion, 4 to 8 winners will be selected. A professional jury will make the final selection between April and May 2025, evaluating applications based on five criteria:

1. Innovation,

2. Impact,

3. Feasibility,

4. Scalability,

5. Budget.

The implementation of the selected projects in urban living labs across Czech cities and municipalities will begin in June 2025 and will last between three to six months.

Interested applicants can apply by submitting a simple application form via Google Forms between February 20, 2025, 12:00 CET, and March 31, 2025, 23:59 CET.
