URBIS The Smart Cities Meetup (Brno, Czechia)
To URBIS websiteURBIS: the largest Central European platform for smart city stakeholders underwent a major transformation in 2024 and figuratively rose from the ashes. Know-how, good practice, contacts and innovative solutions for development of towns and regions were brought together to one place. Ministry of Industry of Trade of the Czech Republic and CzechInvest used this opportunity to organise an initial presentation with a workshop at a representative and impactful platform to engage stakeholders both from Czechia and the Danube Region. This took place on the third day of URBIS on 06 June 2024 as part of the main conference program.
A 1h30-minute presentation attracted approximately 100 stakeholders who are potential providers of solutions for piloting, municipalities with suitable piloting locations, regional or national authorities as potential adopters of the agile piloting method or universities and interest groups with specific expertise to be brought in the piloting process. Approximately 50 of these joined the consequent networking workshop to discuss the possibilities of cooperation. Associated strategic partners from Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the whole event along with project partners from Slovakia and Hungary, who gathered inspiration for their own upcoming national workshops.
