Circular Business Model Development: Third Workshop Introducing the Development of Circular Business Models in Böblingen

On 26 February 2026, the third on-site workshop of the series “Ideas for the Future: Business Models for Sustainable Success” took place at the Centre for Digitalization Böblingen (ZD.BB).

Severine Dommer, Project Manager at ZD.BB, presented the Interreg project DECIDE, which brings together 16 project partners from 10 countries in the Danube Region and supports companies in developing viable circular business models. Martin Kinitzki, Consultant for Digital Business Models at ZD.BB, introduced the topic of circular economy. He demonstrated how the toolbox developed within the project helps companies systematically design and assess digital and circular business models.

Severine Dommer, Project Manager at ZD.BB, presented the Interreg project DECIDE.

Practical implementation pathways for circular business models were illustrated through best practices, highlighting both benefits and challenges. Using a real case from one of the participants, selected methods from the DECIDE Toolbox were tested directly. This hands-on approach enabled participants to explore the development of circular business models in a practical way and gain valuable insights into working with the digital toolkit.

The tools and examples presented during the workshop, as well as further information, are available in our Service Catalogue: https://danube-services.eu/circular-economy-services/

If you are interested in further training on this topic, you are welcome to explore the project’s E-learning platform on Moodle: https://learn.foi.hr/login/index.php?loginredirect=1.
